About Me

Hello! Welcome to my blog and all the ramblings that go along with it. Like the title says, I'm just trying to take life a day at a time. I'm 33 and live in the Kansas City metro area with my husband and our adorable dog Isaac. Spencer and I met at a friends wedding in Lawrence in 2006. I thought he was super cute and he apparently thought the same thing about me! We exchanged phone numbers that night and subsequently ran up a 5,500 minute phone bill in the next month getting to know each other. (thank God for the fact we were both on the same cell carrier or that would have been EXPENSIVE.) Spencer proposed on February 22 and we got married on September 25, 2009.

I love love love to travel.  I visited 21 countries before I turned 21.  It was all started when I was 12 and went on a missions trip to Iceland.  I've visited the following countries: Canada, Mexico, England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France, Austria, Germany, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Czech Republic, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, Australia and New Zealand.  I studied abroad in college and it was one of the best experiences of my life!  In 2012 Spencer and I took a fantastic trip to Europe, here are a few photos!

Stonehenge, we did a tour that allowed us to go inside the inner stone circle rather than just the walk around the outer circle.  We both say its one of the best tours we've done on vacation!

I have been blessed in my life with amazing friends.  I went to the same school from kindergarten through high school graduation.  By the time we graduated most of us were family rather than just friends.  Currently we are going on 28 years and counting of friendship.

My high school best friends, at this point we're all scattered across the country, (KS, FL, and TN) but not a whole lot can change the 28 year foundation we've got!

When I went to college I also made some amazing friends.  My sorority sisters are some of the most fantastic women I know.  Then when I met Spencer I got an entire new circle of friends.  Spencer has a close knit group of friends from both high school and his fraternity.  I count myself lucky that I like his friends and I really like their wives as well!  I think its a testament to how amazing all our friends are that over the years we've been able to merge our groups of friends.

On our very first train trip in England.  We were SUPER pumped as you can tell!

We have a wonderful house, on a big lot with lots of big established trees.  We have done lots to the house since moving in 11 years ago including remodeling the kitchen, hall bathroom, new flooring and adding a screened in back porch and back yard fence.  I think we've finally almost got the house right where we want it!

I think thats a decent overview of me.  I may be coming back later to update things or add more info!
Because I can be a goof.
